Directed x @cshot Every year December 1-4 I find myself in Miami Art District ..Wynwood to be exact for the greatest display of #art in every medium. // Art Basel // Thousands of artists literally paint the town & everything in it. Not just gallery art...which is there, but that just barely scratches the surface. Artists paint everything from cars to trees to people. They make huge sculptures out of everyday items you throw away such as cardboard, Palettes, Zinc, Trash cans, lead, iron, canvas it doesn't matter what they use its all art. The street art is beyond amazing, gigantic murals, hip hop artists perform their songs, and sell their merch alongside clothing designers & just regular kids with their own brands that they sell just off instagram which garners them hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. Every year it gets bigger & bigger and this year 2016 was very massive. I made this because I saw coverage from Fader, Vice, Complex +++ but I felt like their coverage of one of my favorite things in this world looks like a normal weekend in Atlanta and its anything but that. So I decided to take some of the footage that I usually just keep locked away on my many 2 TB or more hard drives and created a visual to hopefully show the scope of what these talented artists who come from everywhere around the world create. Its 15 minutes & believe me it could've been way longer I may have to do a part 2 to show even more events I couldn't fit into this short film. Music definitely represents in a major way at Art Basel which has the Dj Sets by Diplo x Virgil Ablo x Walshy Fire to Dj Tony Touch +++ The hugest concerts from Gucci Mane, Kendrick Lamar, Mos Def, Young Thug, Theophilus London, James Blake, to impromptu performances from Travis Scott to Cool Kids as well as new Miami artists such as Zoey Dollars Denzel Curry, Robb Banks, Spooky Lean & much more. Don't get it twisted fashion is represented greatly @ art basel . Pop ups from Supreme, Off White, Yeezy, ✖️Privé Apparel ✖ Raf Simmons, V-Lone +++ were all to be seen & new pieces were revealed & available for purchase before the general public can get their hypbeast hands on it. The people are another facet of this event. The coolest, weirdest individuals express themselves in daring attire hoping to catch your eye or simply aspire. There is so much to see & talk about I leave Miami immensely inspired every year. If you've never been hopefully this makes you want to go & if you've been to Art Basel hopefully this brings you back to the drunk or high days & nights walking or driving from each event to see the most breathtaking art.
